Professor Tim Lang, Founder and Special Adviser of the Food Research Collaboration, was part of a panel discussion at a Labour Party Conference fringe event on ‘What should the UK’s future food policy look like after Brexit’. The panel featured Shadow Defra Secretary Sue Hayman, who highlighted the importance of improving food security and food production in the Agriculture Bill.

The event was hosted by the National Farmers Union and also featured Food and Drink Federation Chief Executive Ian Wright CBE.

The Food Research Collaboration published a briefing paper in July 2018 by Prof Tim Lang and Prof Erik Millstone, based at the University of Sussex, on food security after Brexit. The report titled ‘Feeding Britain: Food security after Brexit’ recommends that the UK government maintains a clear focus on the potential adverse effects of Brexit on food security.
