UK Food Policy & Nutrition: Tracking Progress

This event will review the policy and practice of Government and business on nutrition by looking at 3 new bodies of evidence:

  • The Global Nutrition Report’s data on UK progress on global nutrition targets;
  • The Access to Nutrition Index which ranks food manufacturers on the extent to which they are supporting good nutrition outcomes; and
  • The Food Foundation’s research applying the Food Environment Policy Index to the UK.

We will be hearing from:
Prof Boyd Swinburn – Professor of Population Nutrition and Global Health at the University of Auckland and coauthor of the Lancet’s obesity series
Lawrence Haddad – Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute and Co-Chair of the Global Nutrition Report’s Independent Expert Group.
Inge Kauer – Executive Director of the Access to Nutrition Index.
